My name is Steven Dickinson, I built my first set of wheels while attending the Barnett Bicycle Institue in Colorado Springs, Colorado in 1995.
There I learned to measure both hubs and rims for correct spoke length, how to lace spokes to obtain optimal tension
and strength, how to stress to wheel to solidify structural integrity, and how to balance the wheel's rotational
dynamics to ensure many miles of enjoyment. Soon after I found myself laboring lovingly in the brightly lit basement
of a large East Coast Canadian bicycle shop. I spent the next six years building wheels for Provincial mountain bike
racers, triathletes, commuters, and anyone else desiring a hand-crafted set of dependable wheels.
I then returned to school to follow another passion of mine: 3D character animation. I have spent many years in video
game development working on such titles as Prince of Persia: The Warrior Within, multiple Assassin's Creed titles,
and King Kong, to name a few. That career gave me the opportunity to live and work in magnificent Australia for five years.
There I took up endurance MTB races and triathlons of all distances from sprint to Ironman. To fulfill my racing needs,
I began constructing wheels by hand again and have not stopped since.
I firmly believe that a well-build wheel should be affordable. I will work with you to find a wheel set that matches
your physique, your bicycle geometry, the way you ride, and your budget. I have selected a range of high quality
components so that my semi-custom built wheels can meet your needs exquisitely.
